Warning: McDonald's Toys Will Make You Blush

So today Grammy took Logan out for a Happy Meal, and when I got home from work he was playing with this:

Ummm.....

Really, McDonald's?? I felt like I needed to cover my poor son's eyes when I saw this latest Star Wars toy. I knew they had special toys designed for under 3, but I'm quite sure Grammy didn't put in a request for "any old NC-17 toys you might have laying around back there."

AAAAAND it lights up. Fancy.

I knew I was going to have to have "the talk" sometime, I was just hoping it didn't have to be when he was FOUR.

[Wednesday morning update: I almost pulled this post because my husband saw it last night and deemed it "offensive" - but judging by the comments I'm not the only mom out there who got an eyeful of this toy and blushed! See....I knew you guys were awesome.]

[Wednesday afternoon update: I knew I couldn't be the only one thinking this! Check out what Carrie has to say about the new McDonald's toys!]

OMG!!! That is sooooooooo funny! Well, not for your little one -but I think I have to get one of these toys for my friend Dave!! HILARIOUS!!

Um, yeah. We got one similar the other day. Frightened and intrigued. What goes on in those development meetings when they're designing concepts for the toys?

I had to crack up! My son got that same toy last week...and when he sat it on the table...I said, "Um what is that exactly?" (There are times I'm grateful for Asperger's) To which he replied, "Duh mom it's a lite saber" Who knew?

That is one scary toy!!!! I generally like Wendy's toys for my nephew...they are usually books, puzzles, and cd games. You know, things that children should actually be allowed to play with!! :) I'm catching up on your blog today... I've missed stalking you!

I have stopped the Happy Meals for this reason! LOL I saw one of these on display and thought to myself "What were they thinking putting this on display?" but then I remembered that nowadays, the idea of what is acceptable as a toy has changed, drastically (i.e. Bratz - don't get me started on these ugly dolls!)

I am extremely offended and am therefore taking you OFF my google reader.

....

Yeah right.

I'm thankful that you've warned me about this and will be asking for the "girl's toy" at McDonalds if I get a Happy Meal.

Ha! There is a famous Star Wars baseball card where an unfortunate camera angle makes C3PO look like he has a raging you know what. I bet you can find it on Google!

OMG! I didn't even preface it before showing my hubby those pix. He asked, "Uh, is that a you-know-what?" (My 3-year-old is snuggling me!"

For the record ... we've never fed our kids McDonald's. We're Chic-Fil-A people. And, they give you oddly wholesome toys. Then again, there was the time they were giving books based on the "Narnia" series.

Wow. Um, yeah. Mickey D's is really taking all the innocence out of it, aren't they? I think I'll wait to introduce Sprite to a happy meal until they have something like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as the toy. I don't think Star Wars Schlong is the way to go.

Well, I'm thankful to see this post. You see, I do have to have "the talk" like tomorrow...so I'm going to Mickey D's tonight and getting one of those to use for graphical purposes. Explaining of course, that his will not actually glow in the dark without help.

They also have one right now that looks exactly like Marilyn Manson. Totally bizarre.
